Incumbent Larry DeVilbiss of Palmer and newcomers Katie Hurley of Wasilla, and David Glines of Eagle River were elected to Matanuska Electric Association's Board of Directors on Saturday, March 17. MEA's Board of Directors met certified the election results March 19.
MEA members were voting to elect one director from each of the co-op's three districts to a three-year term.
In Eagle River, David Glines received 791 votes or 38.6 percent, Will Alteneder received 713 votes or 34.8 percent, Alfred Romaszewski received 312 votes or 15.2 percent, and Tom Staudenmaier received 209 votes or 10.2 percent. There were 22 write-in votes (1 percent).
In Palmer, Larry DeVilbiss received 1,503 votes or 55.8 percent. Dan Tucker received 1,176 votes or 43.7 percent and there were 13 write-ins (0.5 percent).
In Wasilla, Katie Hurley received 1,742 votes or 51.5 percent and incumbent Dallas Massie received 1,624 votes or 48 percent. There were 16 write-ins (0.5 percent).
About 19.5 percent of MEA's members voted, as 41,542 ballots were mailed and 8,121 votes were cast. Elected directors begin serving their new terms July.
