In June of this year, the Chugach Electric Association Board appointed five leading, long-time Alaskan business executives to review the utility's overall performance and make recommendations for the future. The result is the "Blue Ribbon Panel Report," released Dec. 19.

According to Chugach Electric's published news release, the report states that Chugach should "take steps to eliminate the co-op as the business model and concentrate on other models to achieve a more efficient, cost effective and financially healthy utility.
