At  the Oct. 13 Board meeting, MEA's Board of Directors will consider allegations that Director Janet Kincaid violated MEA bylaws and Board policy. Kincaid is alleged to have released confidential information, received in executive session, that could benefit her son, who is a private electrical contractor.

She also is alleged to have violated a Board policy, dating from 1979, which says "Board members shall refrain from discussing management and personnel issues with the Staff or employees of the Association. The Board, in consultation with the General Manager, may discuss issues with key staff at regular or special meetings of the Board." Instead, Kincaid is alleged to have repeatedly discussed management and personnel issues directly with MEA employees.
