MEA strives to provide excellent member services. We are here to assist you with tasks like starting new electric service to your home or business, paying your bill, updating your contact information and more.

Pay Your Bill

Electric bills rendered by MEA are due on the due date. Contact us to request a change of due date if the one currently assigned to you does not meet your needs. MEA offers several ways to pay your electric bill:


It’s fast, convenient and secure.

Create a SmartHub Account: If this is your first time using SmartHub, you’ll need to create an online account with a username and password. All you need is your member account number from your electric bill plus basic information such as your name and contact information.

Pay Now

Just want to make a quick payment?  Use your billing account number and last name/business name to access your account for a quick payment.

In Person

Pay in person at any of three MEA district offices, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays):

Drop Box

Use an MEA drop box at our offices in Palmer, Wasilla, Eagle River and Big Lake or at any of the Mat Valley Federal Credit Union (MVFCU) co-op drop boxes located at Palmer, Wasilla and Seward Meridian.

Pay by phone with your check, VISA or MasterCard using our automated phone system toll free at

Electronic Autopay

Set up auto pay online in SmartHub. We take the payment out of your checking account or will charge your Visa or Mastercard three working days before your due date.
