Electric Rates to Increase July 1 for MEA Members

Beginning July 1, 2025, MEA members will see an increase in their electric bills due to a 3% increase in base rates and a 12.2% increase in the Cost of Power Adjustment (COPA) component of rates. These changes will result in an average monthly increase of approximately $8.87, or 5.7% overall, for a typical member using 642 kilowatt-hours.

Annual Membership Meeting April 29

This year's Annual Membership meeting will be held in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Glenn Massay Theater. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m.

First Quarter 2025 Rate Update

Beginning January 1, 2025, MEA members will see a slight decrease in electricity rates due to a 3.0% rise in base rates, but 10.64% decrease in COPA rates, resulting in an estimated $2.87 decrease on the monthly bill for typical users.
