Bid Online for Surplus Equipment, Office Items & More! 

Matanuska Electric Association (MEA) is hosting its 2025 Surplus Item Sale entirely online this year! From tools and office furniture to lighting equipment and even a utility trailer, members of the public are invited to browse and bid on a wide variety of surplus items. This is a unique opportunity to purchase equipment and materials at a great value while helping us make room for new inventory.

Key Dates

  • Bidding Opens: Now live online
  • Bid Deadline: Friday, October 17, 2025, by 4:00 PM (AKST)
  • Payment & Pickup Deadline: Friday, October 31, 2025

How to Bid

  1. Review the Item Catalog
    Browse the complete 2025 Surplus Item Catalog below with descriptions, quantities, and photos of available lots.
  2. Submit Your Bid Form
    All bids must be submitted using the official Bid Submittal Form. Completed forms can be submitted in one of three ways:
    • Online Upload: Submit through MEA’s Procurement Page (preferred)
    • Drop-Off: Place in a sealed envelope labeled “Surplus Sale Bids” at MEA Headquarters Payment Drop Box
    • Mail:

    Note: Bids must be received by the deadline regardless of submission method.
  3. Wait for Notification
    Successful bidders will be notified within 5 business days of the bid closing date.

Payment & Pickup

  • Payment Accepted: Cashier’s Check or Cash (certified funds only)
  • Bill of Sale: Issued once full payment is received
  • Pickup: Removal of items is by appointment only. Buyers are responsible for packing, loading, and hauling items—MEA cannot provide assistance.

Important Notes

  • All items are sold “as-is, where-is”. No warranties are offered.
  • Defects may exist and repairs may be needed.
  • Failure to pay or pick up by the deadline may result in forfeiture and resale of the item.
