2026 Capital Improvement Projects

MEA’s Board of Directors approved the cooperative's 2026 budget which includes a dozen capital power improvement and maintenance projects aimed at increasing reliability for our co-op members. The 2026 capital improvement projects include construction of the new Meadow Lakes Substation, completion of the first phase of the Pittman to Fishhook transmission line, upgrades to the McRae substation, converting overhead lines to underground along Citation Road, looping projects in Tanaina, Meadow Lakes, and Eagle River and underground cable replacement projects in Chugiak, Eklutna, and Palmer.
