Palmer, AK – Matanuska Electric Association’s Board of Directors is now accepting applications from members who wish to apply for the Board’s vacant At-Large Director seat. Under MEA’s bylaws, the Board may fill a vacant seat for the remainder of the seat’s term by a majority vote of the remaining board members. The Board conducts public meetings on the second Monday of each month and may also hold special meetings and workshops throughout the year.

An applicant must meet the minimum qualifications set in MEA’s bylaws under Article IV – Board Members, Section 3. Qualifications and for an At-Large seat may live anywhere in MEA’s service territory.  Candidate applications for MEA’s vacant Board seat are available now and must be received by June 30, 2020.

The vacant seat was formally held by Director Janet Kincaid who stepped down for personal reasons. Mrs. Kincaid served on MEA’s Board for 12 years.

“The entire MEA family would like to thank Director Janet Kincaid for over a decade of service to her cooperative and fellow members,” noted MEA Board President Bob Doyle. “We look forward to welcoming a new member as we continue to chart a course for MEA’s future based on reliability, safety, innovation and effective stewardship of resources.”
